Vonda Shepard’s February tour celebrates new album “Red Light, Green Light” & “Ally McBeal” 25th Anniversary.
Award-winning singer-songwriter and musical star of the “Ally McBeal” TV series, Vonda Shepard started playing the piano at the age of 6, writing songs at 8, and playing clubs at 14. Vonda has released 15 albums, including 8 solo albums, 3 live albums and 4 albums for the TV show “Ally McBeal”. Vonda has sold over 12 million albums and has won 2 Golden Globes, 2 Emmy awards and 2 Screen Actor’s Guild awards, as well as the Billboard award for selling the most television soundtracks in history.
Throughout her career Vonda has played keyboards and sung with Jackson Browne, Al Jarreau and Rickie Lee Jones.
In 1997 Vonda was cast on the wildly popular TV show “Ally McBeal” as the resident performer in the bar where the characters would hang out at the end of each show. In 1998 she had a worldwide smash hit with the show’s theme song “Searchin’ My Soul”. While on “Ally McBeal”, Vonda was also the “behind the scenes” music producer, producing over 500 songs for the series, often for legendary artists including Sting, Robert Downey Jr., Gladys Knight, Chubby Checker, Al Green, Randy Newman, Jon Bon Jovi, and many more.
This February Vonda is finally coming back to France (Deauville, Paris, Enghien, Bordeaux) and The Netherlands (Zoetermeer) to present her latest album “Red Light, Green Light” (released in September 2022), which was produced by her husband Mitchell Froom (Elvis Costello, Crowded House, Fleetwood Mac). The album’s ten songs offer energetic tunes and soulful ballads. The songs are written with both joy and pain, reflecting Vonda’s classic, deeply personal introspection. As 2022 marked the 25th anniversary of the “Ally McBeal” TV series, Vonda will of course also perform all her greatest hits from the cult TV series.
Vonda’s dynamic live shows feature James Ralston on guitar (Tina Turner), Jim Hanson on bass (Johnny Cash) and Micheal Urbano on drums (Lindsey Buckingham, Sheryl Crow, John Hiatt).
“I play songs at the piano and get completely lost in them, then fuse with the band to get the sparks flying. By the end of the show, I love to belt out the soul tunes and whip the audience into a frenzy!” – Vonda Shepard
