The legendary Funk, R&B and Soul band ZAPP (a.k.a. the ZAPP Band) is back with a new album titled “ZAPP VII – ROGER & FRIENDS”. Bruno Mars’ recent use of the signature ZAPP talkbox sound in his worldwide smash hit “24K Magic” has renewed interest in the original creators of that sound that previously already inspired so many Electro, Hip-Hop and G-Funk artists (including 2Pac, Dr. Dre, Notorious B.I.G., Ice Cube, Snoop Dogg, etc.). The new album celebrates the band’s 40 year Legacy of Funk with 11 brand new songs featuring guest appearances by Tuxedo, Bootsy Collins, Mr. Talkbox, Frankie J., Kurupt, and Snoop Dogg as well as some posthumous performances by the legendary Roger Troutman.
To promote their new album, ZAPP will be touring Europe this November:
Nov 2nd, Kulturhuset Stadsteatern, Stockholm, Sweden
Nov 3rd, Under The Bridge, London, UK
Nov 4th, Trabendo, Paris, France
Nov 6th, Scala, Leverkusen, Germany
Nov 9th, Espace Django, Strasbourg, France
Nov 10th, Aalener Jazzfestival, Aalen, Germany
Zapp unleashes funky, high-energy music with a contagious groove built for dancing, loving and good times. Made up of masterful musicians who have been getting down together since the late 1970s, the group’s sizzling chemistry can be attributed to the fact that it has always been a joyful family affair.
Original members still in today’s line-up: Lester Troutman, Terry Troutman, Bart Thomas, Dale DeGroat, Rick Bray. New Members: Ronald Frost, Anthony Arrington
