Iwan VanHetten (Brooklyn Funk Essentials, Sister Sledge, Pointer Sisters), Rob Harris (Jamiroquai, Sister Sledge, Beverly Knight) and Paul Turner (Jamiroquai, Sister Sledge, Brother Strut) have joined forces in TRIONIQ, one of this year’s grooviest new jazz/funk bands. These three seasoned artists, songwriters, producers and touring musicians have gathered numerous accolades throughout their individual careers, playing on a string of hits and performing worldwide.

• Rob Harris: as well as being a writing, recording and touring member of Jamiroquai since 1999, Rob Harris has also recorded and performed with many other artists including Beverly Knight, Sister Sledge, Kanye West, Robbie Williams to name just a few. This has taken him across the globe playing many prestigious venues and festivals ranging from London’s emblematic Jazz Cafe, Ronnie Scott’s, Wembley Arena and the O2 to major international stages like the Montreux Jazz Festival, the North Sea Jazz Festival, Coachella and Rock In Rio in Brazil.

• Iwan VanHetten: Iwan is a longstanding writing, touring and recording band member of the New York based Brooklyn Funk Essentials, with whom he has toured the world over several times, playing in prestigious venues & festivals such as the North Sea Jazz Festival (both in the Netherlands and in South Africa), Ronnie Scott’s in London and the Bataclan in Paris, to name just those. Iwan has also toured and recorded with other artists like Sister Sledge, Candy Dulfer, Paco Sery, etc.

• Paul Turner: in addition to being the bassist with Jamiroquai, Paul’s credits include jazz/funk & R&B artists like Jeff Lorber, Down To The Bone and Omar, as well as mainstream icons like Annie Lennox, Bryan Ferry and Tina Turner. And the list goes on! These recordings and live performances have taken place at many legendary sites like Ronnie Scott’s, the Montreux Jazz Festival, Madison Square Garden and Abbey Road Studios.

Following the release of their first E.P. “1” in 2014 and their second E.P. “Deux” in 2020, the band’s first full album “1, DEUX, TRES” (released in 2022) showcases their love of soulful expression and groove-based playing, captured ‘in the moment’. All tracks were recorded live in the studio in one take. “We don’t want to over-think or over-produce our music, just record it – and if it feels good it IS good!” (quote from Rob). The album features special guest performances by some of the finest artists in the music industry, including Ryan Aston (Lighthouse Family, Jeff Beck) on drums, Sola Akingbola (Jamiroquai) on percussion and Shean Williams (Craig David) on vocals.
